Dear Just Married Exchange Author

A lot of the tags are pretty-self explanatory as prompts, so I’ll elaborate as needed.  Feel free to included any tag for any pairing, even if it's not explicitly mentioned under the pairing below.

Genre thoughts:  I love both the fluffiest of fluff and the smuttiest of smut.  I don’t expect to see both in the same fic, but if you can make it work, power to you.  I have a complicated relationship with angst - it’s fine if there’s some there, but I prefer it conclude with a happy ending.  Given that I have multiple fandoms that include teenagers, please make sure everyone is 18+ - and that it’s made clear in the fic - if there’s going to be any smut.

Character death thoughts: Permanently killing a main character is a big fat DNW for me.  Refe rencing the death of a minor character is okay, as long as it’s not a primary plot point.  Basically - fic opens at a funeral or passing reference to someone that died before the events of the story, okay.  Minor character dying in the middle of the story, DNW.  Temporary character death is okay, as long as the resurrection occurs at the end of the story.  I think there’s only one character that’s dead in canon this time around, so that gives you one fix-it option.

Pregnancy/kid fics: Yes please.  I adore all sorts of kid fics.  If a request with an m/f pairing doesn’t have a pregnancy/kids tag, it doesn’t mean I don’t want it, it just means I ran out of tags.  While I’m okay with mpreg as a general concept, I don’t want to see it in every fandom or with every ship, so I’ll mention where I’m good with it under the request specific info.

SFW DNWS: on screen-death of any character, permanent death of a major character, angsty endings

NSFW DNWS: dub-con/non-con, extreme kink, body fluids not meant to be involved in sex

Before diving into the fandom-specific stuff - a lot of the tags function as prompts.  I’’m not going to restate them all, but I will elaborate as needed.

Baby-Sitters Club
Charlie Thomas/Mary Anne Spier
Because of all the years they spent living next door and Charlie witnessing how overprotective Mr. Spier was, I can see Charlie wanting to get his blessing before proposing.  He’s enough older than Mary Anne that it’s possible he has a few vague memories of Mary Anne’s mother and her death.

For family heirlooms, I’m assuming that it’s Mary Anne’s grandparents giving her something of her mothers.  Or you can ignore the house fire and have her dad give it to her.

I put the adopting a child tag in there because Charlie comes from a blended family with both biological and adopted children, so that could be something they might emulated.  (Or the kids can be all biological or all adopted.)

There’s a few prompts that have it being a second marriage for one or both or them.  I left it open that one them could be widowed or that there was an acrimonious divorce.  I’ve got no preferences on what happened to whom there.

Friend designing the wedding cake is definitely Claudia.

If you want to go with the friend’s wedding tag, I also ship Stacey/Sam and Byron Pike/Jeff Schaefer.

I’ve been re-reading the books and have not seen the Netflix show, so book Mary Anne is my mental image.

Crossover Fandom
Cameron Mitchell/John Sheppard
All the angsty bad first marriage, abusive ex-spouse stuff I see being from John’s marriage to Nancy.  I rewatched the episode where John’s father died recently for a bingo fill and it made be hate her more than before, so totes would love to see her villainized.

Family disapproval stuff is also John, assuming a universe where he and Cam get married while John’s father is still alive.

Evan Lorne/Cameron Mitchell
I feel like the tags explain everything pretty well for these two.  I don’t really see the bad first marriage, abusive ex-spouse or family disapproval stuff fitting here, but if you have an idea go for it.

Eureka
Jack Carter/Nathan Stark
For the abusive ex-spouse, I’m thinking more in terms of emotional abuse/gaslighting whether it’s Abby & Jack or Allison & Nathan.

If you use the adopting a child together tag, I’d love to see how Zoe reacts to that included.

Everything else is pretty well self-explanatory.

So since Nathan is dead in canon, this can be set before we get there, it can be an AU where it never happened, or it can be an AU where the season 4 time travel shenanigans brought Nathan back.

Harry Potter
Draco Malfoy/Charlie Weasley, Neville Longbottom/Ginny Weasley, Percy Weasley/Oliver Wood, Sirius Black/Remus Lupin

The happily child free tag, I included with Sirius & Remus in mind for so many reasons, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it being used for the others.

Okay, this is the fandom where I’m good with mpreg.  I assume that it’s just a normal thing that wizards can get pregnant regardless of gender identity.  I wouldn’t be opposed to either a shotgun wedding or kids being born before the wedding because it doesn’t appear that Hogwarts has any sort of sex-ed.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

Fandom General Note: Please do not include anything from Secret Invasion.

Carol Danvers/Nick Fury
I love the idea on them having an intergalactic long-distance relationship.  It puts a new significance on that pager.

Or maybe they get married after Endgame and Fury actually goes to space to be with Carol.

James "Bucky" Barnes/Sam Wilson
Assuming that Sam was with Riley before, this is one of the prompts where second marriage would fit.  I see them as more of the casual “hey let’s go get married” type.

If you want to use the celebrity marriage tag, I see it as “the paps find out and won’t leave them alone.”

James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers
I’m good with 1940s or present day for the timeframe.  The setting without gay marriage prompts fit in the 1940s, but I’m also okay with a “same sex marriage has always been allowed” AU.

Celebrity marriage could fit for present-day because despite their best efforts, people will find out.

I don’t want to see anything canon-compliant for the end of Endgame.

James "Rhodey" Rhodes/Tony Stark
I’m good with keeping the relationship secret because of Rhodey’s military career, setting the story after DADT was repealed, or a “same sex marriage has always been allowed” AU.

The celebrity marriage ones work really well here and I swear the one must have been submitted with Tony in mind.  Long-distance could also work depending on the time frame.

Riley/Sam Wilson
I see these two as secret husbands sneaking about in the military to avoid getting caught.  Given the time frame, they might not be legally married but still refer to each other as husbands.  This can be combined with Steve/Sam or Bucky/Sam if you would like.

Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanov
I see Winter Soldier as the launching point for this ship.  I see everything with them being pretty low-key.  If you go with one spouse rescuing the other, I’d love to see Nat doing the rescuing.

Steve Rogers/Howard Stark
I have so many Steve/Howard ideas because it’s my main guilty pleasure pairing.  I think they can all be made to fit within the context of the tags, or you can just use the tags as prompts.  I don't see the celebrity marriage tags fitting here unless you go with a homophobia-free AU of the 1940s.

1) When money is short, Steve and Bucky resort to prostitution to get by.  Steve ends up getting picked up by Howard and it becomes an exclude arrangement in the interest of discretion.  Things get awkward when Steve becomes part of Project Rebirth.
2) Howard is just as drawn to Steve during the early phases of Project Rebirth, but knows he can’t start something literally under the Army’s nose.  And then after Steve rescues Bucky et al, Howard assumes that Steve and Bucky are boyfriends.  Eventually they pull their heads out of their asses and get together.
3) Howard is the one that answers the radio call and tells Steve that the serum means he won’t freeze to death in the water before they can get to him and convinces him to jump out of the Valkyrie before it crashes and then they pull Steve out of the ocean and everyone lives happily ever after.
4) Howard actually finds Steve and the Valkyrie and then they thaw Steve out and everyone lives happily ever after.
5) Steve and Howard were in a relationship in the 1940s, hence Howard’s obsession with finding Steve.  Events between 1945 and 2011 play out differently and Howard is still alive when they find Steve.  Either Howard and Maria have gotten divorced or Maria is deceased, so Steve and Howard pick up where they left off, much to Tony’s horror.
6) When Steve returns the stones at the end of Endgame, he stays in the past to be with Howard.  He picks the year 1971 to make sure that he doesn’t prevent Tony from being born.
7) An Infinity War Fix-It/Endgame AU where changing the past does actually change the future.  Steve goes back to 1991 to rescue Bucky, save Howard, and destroy the Tesseract all in one fell swoop.  Is takes them a few years to find the Tesseract because it’s with the Scrulls, and probably a couple more to Howard & Tony to figure out how to destroy it.  The ripple effect makes for a much more peaceful world as Loki never attacks New York because the tesseract is already destroyed.  There’s also the issue of two Steves existing at the same time, especially since one is frozen on the bottom of the ocean.  I’ll leave how that is dealt with open to interpretation as long as it’s resolved with a happy ending.  I wouldn’t mind seeing Tony/Rhodey as a side pairing, but that’s not a requirement.
8) An Endgame AU where “changing the past doesn’t change the future” means that they can pluck Howard out of the past, bring him to the present, and Tony’s life and memories are exactly the same.  If any questions how that’s actually possible, the answer is “because science.”   Bonus points if Howard is plucked from a point in time where he’s younger than present-day Tony.

Steve Rogers/Sam Wilson
Assuming that Sam was with Riley before, this is one of the prompts where second marriage would fit.  I see them as more of the casual “hey let’s go get married” type.

I can also see them eloping to avoided wedding planning and then just “forgetting” to tell anyone for months.

Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Tony does everything over the top because that’s what Tony does.  Steve has long since learned not to argue and just lets Tony do what he wants.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Kimberly Hart/Tommy Oliver
This can be an AU where they never split up or they get back together later.  I can see Tommy being all over the top romantic.

Rocky DeSantos/Adam Park
My head canon is that they started dating at 14 and were never with anyone else.  By the time same-sex marriage is legalized in California (the first time), they’re 29 and have been together for 15 years, so there’s not a whole lot of pomp and circumstance there.

Sense8
Amanita Caplan/Nomi Marks, Hernando Fuentes/Lito Rodriguez

All the celebrity and over the top prompts are Hernando/Lito and all the low-key ones are Nomi/Amanita.  Everything else fits for either one of them.

Star Wars Original Trilogy
Leia Organa/Han Solo
This is definitely where the celebrity marriage comes in because of Leia’s position in the Rebellion.  I can easily see things getting way more elaborate than Han is comfortable with.

Luke Skywalker/Han Solo
This is the low-key, no kids, hide from the world couple.

Stargate Atlantis
I’ve split these into three categories - with John and without John.

Evan Lorne/John Sheppard, Laura Cadman/John Sheppard, Rodney McKay/John Sheppard
As with under Crossover Fandom, I see all the bad and abusive first spouse stuff being from John’s marriage with Nacncy.  And anything to piss of the family is John trying to piss off his father.

Carson Beckett/Rodney McKay, Evan Lorne/Rodney McKay, Laura Cadman/Evan Lorne, Laura Cadman/Rodney McKay

I see everything except the angsty stuff above as something that could fit for these.  I did run out of tags to include having a baby, but I’m fine with knocking Laura up in the het pairings.

Stargate SG-1
Daniel Jackson/Jack O'Neill
Jack and Daniel both had first marriages that ended badly - Jack got divorced because his son accidentally shot himself with Jack’s gun and Daniel’s wife ended up the host to a goa’uld.  So all of the second marriage tags apply to them, with the option to throw a twist in there to complicate things.

Sam Carter/Cameron Mitchell, Vala Mal Doran/Cameron Mitchell
Everything is pretty self-explanatory for both of these pairings.  The family wanting grandchildren is most likely Cam’s parents.
