Writing Update
Apr. 3rd, 2023 08:39 pmThree days in, I've hit par each day for Camp NaNoWriMo. My goal is 15k, so that's 500 per day. I'm working on my Dino Thunder AU - I had ended up folding my main story and the prequel together for my outline and I'm going to split them back into two stories. Part 1 will be everything up until the Dino Thunder Rangers receive their powers and then Part 2 will be set during the actual Power Rangers Dino Thunder Season. Part 1 starts at the tail end of Zeo, so it will definitely be the longer of the two.
I've long struggled with titles and summaries, but while I was at the gym I came up with a title for Part 1 and summaries for both.
The Journey of a Thousand Miles
Summary: While the Dino Thunder Rangers started defending Reefside in the fall of 2003, their origin story actually traces back to Angel Grove in the spring of 1997.
Dino Thunder AU: Part 2
Summary: Adam Park has to juggle his missing boyfriend returning to town with a gap in his memories, mentoring a Ranger team, and teaching teenagers. He doesn't get paid enough for this shit.
I'm pretty sure that it will take more than 15k words to finish The Journey of Thousand Miles, so I'm considering signing up for
wipbigbang with it. If I do that would be story #2.
Story #1 is part of my Zeo Time Paradox, which I'm going to split into multiple stories, the first of which will be set during Power Rangers Zeo, with a tiny bit of Power Rangers Turbo thrown in because it will end with high school graduation. And because apparently the gym is very good for my creativity this one also has a title and a summary.
Not How We Left It
Summary: When Tanya Sloan and Aisha Campbell switch places, the Zeo Raangers have to navigate both an altered timeline and their senior year of high school.
Aisha, Kim, Zack, and Trini probably won't appear much in Not How We Left It, but will get some side plot stories. There will also be two prequels - one that is the backstory the Zeo Rangers lived called "The Way Things Were" and then the backstory for the new timeline which they need to be told about called "The Past That Never Was." And then there will be I don't know how many sequels.
I'm leaning towards using my Becca Stark AU as my July Camp NaNoWriMo project. I'm planning to split this up into separate stories as well, probably by decade.
Then I have
storkswap,
holmestice,
fandom5k, so I'm going to be busy writing for awhile.
