wipbigbang snippets are due on the 1st, so I've been making sure that all of my sign-ups have scenes long enough to use for the three snippets. I figured it’s also a good time to do a status check on them and also prioritize them in order of completion.

I have one more that I need to check on for snippets, then the next task is taking each of them to the minimum word count. After they’ve all reached 7500 words, then it’s time to go back to finish them.

I’m hoping to actually get all 8 completed for the Big Bang, but if some of them run away on me, I do still plan to finish all of them.

Story 1: Zeo Time Paradox: Part 1: Not How We Left It (Power Rangers Zeo)
Current Word Count: 4,834

I’ve posted about this one before - the basic premise is that Aisha staying in Africa changes a lot of shit when they get back to the present and basically creates a new timeline. I take this universe through Dino Charge, so I’m breaking this up into manageable chunks. This story goes from A Zeo Beginning up until high school graduation. The sequence of events of the end of Zeo, the Turbo movie, and the beginning of Turbo don’t fully make sense where Jason is concerned, so I’m moving high school graduation up to before the Turbo movie, so that way Jason actually graduated with the rest of them. Jason/Adam is the main pairing of the story (though I do break them up in one of the sequels and get Adam back with Rocky). The new timeline puts Kim in France with her mom and step-dad instead of in Florida, so she and Tommy still break-up, but with a lot less drama. Tommy will start dating Kat as some point in the story, though I break them up in one of the sequels too. I do have some stuff written that will end up in the sequels - I’m not going those words in the number above.

Story 2: Flyboy Trio AU: Part 1: The Academy Years (Stargate SG-1/Stargate Atlantis)
Current Word Count: 3,641

In this AU, John Sheppard goes to the Air Force Academy instead of Stanford. His roommate is one Cameron Mitchell, and they start dating part way through second semester. In the second half on the year, they meet Sam Carter, who becomes their bestie and fake dates John for awhile to help them maintain their cover. At the start of their third year, Cam befriends a first year cadet named Evan Lorne and John & Cam bring him into the relationship. The overall universe spans through the end of SGA (and probably beyond), but this story will end when John, Cam, and Sam graduate from the Air Force Academy.

Story 3: Dino Thunder AU: Part 1: The Journey of a Thousand Miles (Power Rangers Zeo/Power Rangers Ninja Storm/Power Rangers Dino Thunder/Power Rangers Jungle Fury)
Current Word Count: 4,645

Another one I’ve posted about before. This started as a main fic and a prequel. Then I combined them together because I’d have to explain too much in the main fic that would be also explained in the prequel. I then split it back into two stories, but at a different point in the timeline. The story being written starts as the Zeo Rangers are making plans for college and ends right before Conner and Ethan are introduced. That will be the start of part 2. There’s also plans for several sequels and side plots. Tommy/Adam is the main pairing. Rocky/Jason and Hayley/RJ are the side pairings.

Story 4: Becca Stark AU: Part 1: The 1940s (Marvel Cinematic Universe)
Current Word Count: 3,239

I’ve posted about this one before as well. It’s the AU where Howard Stark marries Bucky’s sister, meaning that Tony is Bucky’s nephew. I originally envisioned this as one huge story where it starts the night Bucky was sent to kill the Starks, then flashback to Howard telling the Barnes family Bucky died, and then work my way back to 1991. Except Bucky wasn’t having any of that and wanted to be in the story much sooner, so now it’s several different stories, each spanning a decade and instead of starting in 1945, it now starts in 1940. I’ve re-outlined most of the 1940s to fit the new timeline. The word count only includes new words and the previously written scenes that I know I’m keeping. There’s a few that need to be either re-worked or thrown out completely. I also have a fair amount written for the 1990s installment that I’m not counting here. It can be a future WIP Big Bang project.

Story 5: Untitled John Sheppard/Laura Cadman Story (Stargate Atlantis)
Current Word Count: 11,953

I started this story for a Big Bang so long ago. Given where the story is at word count wise with no end in sight, I’m guessing there was originally a 25k minimum, and it could easily surpass that number. In this story, John talks Laura out of leaving Atlantis when she breaks up with Carson. He finds out that she gave a child up for adoption when she was 16, goes with her for moral support when she meets the kid for the first time, and then they become a thing. There’s some hiccups along the way, but I have actually written the closing where they live happily ever after, I just have to figure out how they get there.

Story 6: Untitled Dark Kimberly Hart Story (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Power Rangers Zeo)
Current Word Count: 6,065

This is way darker than I usually write and I definitely blame the news for this because I starting writing it when Larry Nassar sexually absuing all those gymnasts was the front page story. I started wondering “what if Kim’s gymnastics experience wasn’t on the up and up.” I didn’t go as far as sexual assault, but the gymnasts are all cut off from the outside world and Kim attempts suicide pretty early on. This story also explains away The Letter, but that doesn’t mean that she’ll end up with Tommy in the end. Tommy, Jason, and Adam are all in love with Kim, and while I initially envisioned this story ended up as Adam/Kim, the muse might say otherwise as I get further in.

Story 7: Untitled Jack McCoy/Michael Cutter Story (Law & Order)
Current Word Count: 3,624

Jack/Mike is one of three ships that I have for this show and as much as I love the new characters, I wanted to dust this one off and revisit the other EADA played by a British actor that has also been on Homeland. In this story, I do keep the Jack/Claire from canon and do kill Claire off in the same shitty way that canon did. However, she and Jack had just had a kid and she had literally just returned from maternity leave. Jack is all “WTF how am I going to raise this baby by myself.” Enter Mike Cutter, who I head canon as Claire’s bestie. He helps Jack raise his daughter and they do ultimately get together, though it takes over a decade and a nudge from Connie Rubirosa to get there.

Story 8: A Desperate Situation (How to Get Away with Murder)
Current Word Count: 2,426

This one is also darker and also the only one where I have started posting. It stems from a HTGAWM RP that I used to do. At the start of the story, Connor and Oliver’s son attempts suicide and the whole story stems from that. 5 chapters are posted, the 6th is in progress, and my outline goes through chapter 27. The bullet point for Chapter 28 is “where next?” which is what I need to figure out.
