Writing Update

capsquaredTook a couple days off from writing this month to play the new Sims expansion pack, but still hit my goal for the month today. Nothing posted publicly so far, but that will be changing in May.

storkswap assignment yesterday. We only matched on one fandom and there was only one relationship for that fandom, so that made things easy. Old me would then not think about this again until oh 3-4 days before the deadline. However, this is new me and I already have a story summary written, so I know exactly where I want this to go. I've watched the source material recently enough that I'm not worried about having character voices down, but there are some details I want to double-check, so there will be a little bit of rewatching.
Unfortunately,storkswap did not give me an excuse to rewatch Sherlock, so that's where holmestice comes in. I don't think I've watched the series since The Final Problem aired, so I'm desparately overdue for a rewatch because that's been 6 years.
I've also submitted several nominations forfandom5k, about 2/3 of which have been approved. This one will take more plotting once assignments are out because it's a longer fic.
I'm planning to focus mainly on the Dino Thunder AU during April as those are the only words I'm going to count for Camp NaNoWriMo. I might dabble with the others if I need a brain break, but the deadlines are such that I'm also fine waiting until May 1 to start writing.

Date: 2023-03-31 04:11 am (UTC)There was one year that I picked up 4 pinch hits for Yuletide and then wrote all 5 fics in the last twenty-four hours before the deadline. I was playing "Totally F**ked" from Spring Awakening on repeat, which was a good indication of my stress level. That's something I'm hoping to avoid this year.
